Hyper Realistic Cherry Drawing with colored pencils
In this exclusive real-time tutorial, you’ll revisit one of my older drawings with a fresh 2023 voiceover, where I show you how to create a hyperrealistic cherry with water droplets using Faber-Castell Classic color pencils. What makes this session unique is that it captures my own experimental process—I was nervous at first, but by letting go and following the flow, I discovered techniques that gave surprisingly satisfying results. You’ll learn how to build rich red layers with careful blending using tissue paper, add depth and contrast with darker tones, and bring droplets to life through highlights made with a Mono Zero eraser and sharp touches of a white gelly roll pen. Along the way, I share the small mistakes, experiments, and adjustments that helped me refine the textures, tones, and reflections. By the end of this tutorial, you’ll not only have a vibrant, realistic cherry but also the confidence to embrace experiments and turn them into learning opportunities. And as usual, the references of this tutorial are included in the Materials section.
