Drawing Community 5 days agoInitial skill test drawing
This is my attempt of eye sketch. I learned a lot during this test and I find realistic drawing really fascinating. I always wanted to learn to draw but never knew how, so actually, I’m pretty impressed that I was able to draw something like this. Can’t wait to learn more!

How far away should you look at a drawing, close up looks sort of OK further away looks a lot better.
How do you use a mono eraser properly, it’s doing my head in.

Ich benutze relativ feines Schleifpapier um die Spitze immer spitz zu halten und sauber wird sie dabei auch und der Verschleiß ist nicht so hoch.

If you’re applying it by pressing down on the undertone, a mono eraser definitely won’t give you the look you want. I’m having the same problem, and I think an electric eraser is more helpful in achieving a whiter tone.

redoing my cherry drawing not happy with the mono zero eraser at the moment, waiting for the electric one to arrive, it looks so easy to use when Ali does it

You’re absolutely right, the cherry drawing is very challenging. The shine, the round forms, and the leaf texture are not easy at all. But honestly, you handled this really nicely.
