This is incredible work, especially at just 13. The wrinkles, expression and overall structure show real observation skills. You’ve done something many adults struggle with, so be proud of this. If you ever feel scared to add colour, remember you won’t ruin anything… you’ll only learn. Start with a very light layer on the flower just to test… Read more

Michael this is a fantastic first attempt. The amount of detail you’ve packed into the iris and skin texture shows that you already have a strong eye for realism.
For someone who started drawing only five months ago this is honestly impressive. Keep practicing your soft transitions around the eyelids and you’ll see your drawings get even more… Read more

            • Charcoal Portrait

This is a portrait of my first Grandson. It is also my first attempt with charcoal in a portrait. I had fun doing this one. It was a lot less stressful and time consuming than the ones I do in graphite. Definitely room for improvement, like working on midtones but im pretty happy with the outcome.

Suzanne this is such a beautiful and gentle portrait. You captured the softness of the face and the peaceful expression so well. For a first charcoal portrait this is genuinely impressive. Charcoal is not easy to control but you handled the transitions with a very calm hand.

This looks awesome Vyshnav. You really captured the intensity in his expression and the hair work is especially good. Keep practicing your midtones and soft transitions and your portraits will level up even faster. Great effort, keep going 😊🔥

                  • @alihaiderrehman hello Ali! I needed your advice about something. So it’s always easier to follow someone else’s exact drawing steps, shading, darkening and everything, but when i want to draw a portrait on my own it get really confusing, where to start , which pencil to use first .. how can i get better at this?

Samar this is so good! Honestly I’m really impressed with how clean and soft your fur looks. The flow, the direction, the contrast, everything is working beautifully here. And that butterfly is the perfect touch, it adds so much charm to the drawing.
For a first post after coming back to drawing, this is insanely strong. You’ve clearly kept… Read more

You balanced the values really well and the form of the banana looks clean and solid. The shading is smooth and the texture is coming through nicely. If you keep practicing like this, you’re going to improve very fast.

Brooo this is such a wholesome throwback 😄🙌 seeing your old drawings like this honestly made me smile. And yes, you have improved a lot. Your lines are much cleaner now, your shading is smoother, and your understanding of shapes and proportions is way better than before.

Brooo this is clean 👌✨ I really love the control in your strokes and the balance in the composition. The gold on black always hits different, and you kept everything neat and confident. For a simple calligraphy piece, this is honestly solid work. I’d easily give it a 9 out of 10 ❤️🤲 keep going!
