      It’s looking really nice 😊
The pose and flow of the hair are working well. Next step, clean up the lines and add a bit more confidence to the outlines. You’re on the right track 🔥

      Teapot & Pears

These are my last two exercise drawings. I want to thank Ali for such wonderful instructions. Each exercise is a foundation for the next exercise. Each exercise is so easy to follow and so rewarding to complete.

Larry this is beautiful work 😊
You can really see the progress from one exercise to the next. The teapot form is solid and the pears have lovely texture and control. You’re doing exactly what the exercises are meant to do. Keep going. It’s paying off 🙌

          Hallo Annemie 😊
Dit is echt knap voor je eerste perspectieftekening. De diepte werkt goed en je lijnen leiden het oog mooi naar binnen. Blijf hiermee oefenen. Je gevoel voor perspectief is al sterk 🙌

              Hey Rachael 😊
Great start and honestly this eye is coming along really well. The iris depth and overall shape are solid 👍
For eyelashes, think groups not single hairs. Start from the root darker and thicker, then lift your pencil as you move out so the tips stay light. Also vary the direction slightly so they don’t look too uniform.

                • What can I change to make it look more realistic? The nose turned out a bit strange

                    Hey Hermann 😊
You’re right and good eye catching that. The nose feels flat because the mid tones are missing. Try softening the bridge edges and add a gentle shadow under the nose wings instead of outlining them. Also darken the nostril core just a bit for depth 👍
Overall the eyes and lips are strong. Fixing those nose values will push the… Read more

                      Hi Sia 😊
That’s lovely to hear. I’m really glad the studio is helping you improve.
Take your time with the cat drawing and enjoy the process. Charcoal really shines with patience and soft layering 🎨 Can’t wait to see the finished piece. Keep going 🙌

Hi Vyshnav 😊 nice progress so far. The face shading looks different mainly because the mid tones are missing and the jump from light to dark is happening too quickly. Try blocking the entire face first with one soft mid tone, then slowly build the darker shadows on top instead of pushing them early. Keep the highlights clean and untouched…

                    • Hey guys, what do you think about this? Do I need to make the shading even darker? I’m afraid that I won’t be able to get smooth transitions if I do… Around the eyes and the nose I shaded in layers, but somehow everything still looks so flat. What am I doing wrong here?

Hermann you’re not doing anything “wrong” here. You’re actually on the right track. The reason it feels flat is not because you need to go darker everywhere but because the shading doesn’t have enough difference between the darkest and lightest areas. Right now most of the tones are sitting in the same range so everything blends… Read more

Theo this looks really graceful. I love how soft and calm the whole drawing feels. You’re building a very clean sense of proportions and the subtle shading around the neck and hand is handled nicely. Keep exploring these gentle transitions because they suit your style a lot. Learning a little every day truly shows in your work. Keep going 😊✨
