Lens is improving with every drawing 😊
This is really good.
One small tip to push it even further. In your drawings, try adding both the lightest highlights and the darkest accents. That full value range will make the work pop even more 👍1- View 1 reply

Drawing Community 4 weeks agoThis is my Skin Texture exercise. This exercise definately deserves to be practiced several times. There is a lot going on in this one. I bought some tape to outline this exercise and i believe it is masking tape instead of drafting tape. When i pulled the tape up, it took the serface off of the paper.
-
You have done very well Larry, I have had a go in the past a couple of times and given up, I too use masking tape but before I put it on I put the tape over my clothes first before I stick my paper down, seems to work ok.

This looks amazing. You’ll have this technique down to perfection in no time!

Great work Larry 😊
You’re absolutely right, this exercise has a lot going on and it’s meant to be repeated. You handled the texture transitions really well and the value depth inside the circle looks strong 👍 And, yes that’s a common issue. Masking tape can be too aggressive on some papers. And thank you Alex for this cloth tip 😊Even I… Read more1

Hi Dave
Ive been drawing for as long as I can remember off and on all my life. However I have no idea what I’m doing. I am wanting to learn how to become faster and draw from my mind. Outside of a semester of art class in high school I have never taken any classes this is my very first one. I think everyone has room for growth and learning. This…

Drawing Community 4 weeks agoIm looking for someone/people to critique these drawings. Im having trouble with blending (it feels patchy) and where to place the (different tones of) shadows and highlights.
-
You’re doing great. I always try to keep in mind of my pressure while shading this helps me
2 -
You are doing very well, Aniek.

Thank you for sharing your work. That already shows the right mindset.
First, the good part. Your eye shapes and proportions are solid. The forms read correctly and the eyes feel alive. That tells me your observation skills are already there 👍 The patchy blending. This usually happens when the mid tones are skipped. Try this simple fix.… Read more1- View 1 reply

Drawing Community 4 weeks agoJust started drawing for a week or three.
Hello everybody,
I just started to draw like a week or three ago. Not on a very regular basis but those are my drawings. Subscribed to Ali’s course but quite difficult for a beginner. I never touched a pencil before in my life. Any advise? I joined so far a couple of drawings I made. Thanks for any valuable feedback.
Best Regards and Happy…

Looking good, at least your glass looks like a glass of water mine looked like a glass of Coke😁

You’re doing great

Welcome to the community 😊
If you’ve only been drawing for a week or two, this is genuinely impressive. You jumped straight into observation and shading, which is exactly the right way to start 👍 My biggest advice right now is to slow down and keep things simple. Focus on understanding light and dark before worrying about details. Even a rough… Read more1

Vishnu, you really love drawing characters and it shows 😊
I loved your Jack Sparrow drawing, and now this Wolverine is so cool 🔥
One small suggestion to push it even further. Try adding the lightest highlights and the darkest tones. That full value range will enhance the drawing even more 👍2- View 1 reply

Thanks, Christina, and welcome. I too have just started this course but I had a a few months about a year ago with Ali.

Alex, this is fantastic 😊
Seeing these lessons come back to life years later is really special.
This tells me one important thing. The fundamentals stayed with you. That’s real learning. Not rushing. Just understanding.
Really proud of this progress. Keep going 🔥1 - View more comments
