Drawing Community 2 weeks agoI hope everyone is having a nice evening. Here are some of my old drawings. They are all colored pencil or graphite. I have alot more and more graphite and charcoal- carbon drawings pictures too but im not sure where they are. I can’t wait to have time to make it to the apple and banana excerise in the course. I’ll share it when I do 🙂

Your drawings are excellent. Thanks for sharing.

Brilliant, Christina, and as Larry said, Thanks for sharing
1 -
Christina, you are inspiring others to share their old drawings too, and that is a really beautiful thing 😊
Alex also shared his drawings, and I have to say it is so inspiring to see. You were already good from the very beginning, and it is amazing to see how that foundation has grown over time 👍 Thank you for sharing and encouraging… Read more

Drawing Community 3 weeks agoEyes on black paper
I have been practicing drawing eyes on black paper. There is sure a lot to learn drawing the same thing over and over.
-
Larry this is definitely very interesting to look at. They all look really good and in black paper to boot. Very nice exercise idea
1 -
Great idea, Larry, they look really good.
-
Haha yes, it really does feel like modern art mixed with realism 😄
Apart from the learning side, it looks aesthetically very strong. The contrast on black paper, the variety of eyes, and the overall composition make it visually interesting, not just an exercise 👍
And honestly, this is a great idea. Repeating the same subject like this… Read more1 -

Nice one.

I agree with Alex nice!

I love how consistent you all are. That is the real artist mindset 😊
Showing up again and again, even for simple assignments, is what builds skill and confidence. It is not about one perfect drawing, it is about steady practice and learning something new each time 👍
Keep going and keep that consistency. It always pays off 🎨1

Looking good, Anthony.

Heys looking good Anthony keep it up!

Hey Anthony, don’t be so hard on yourself 😊
It’s totally okay if something feels a bit off. That is part of learning, and you will fix these things naturally in the next drawing. The important part is that you are practicing and paying attention 👍2

Drawing Community 3 weeks agoMy first Rhino
Hi all finished my first attempt at a rhino tonight, i call him Kevin.
Techniques from course ive learned so far and used here, scumbling to apply base layer before blending with brush and repeating to build layers, before finishing with back and forth strokes to try and add the skin texture. On the horn i used hatching before blending with a…

Ich finde es auch gut 👍👍

Hey Patrick, this drawing really shows your learning and understanding of scumbling, hatching, and blending 😊
Even if it did not turn out exactly how you expected, that is completely okay. For me, this kind of study means much more than a highly detailed drawing. It shows real growth and thinking 👍 Keep going. You are building the right… Read more3 - View more comments

Drawing Community 3 weeks agoFinished my Pastel course.
I finished my tiger cub this morning, once again I ran out of tooth using the wrong paper I always forget not to press to hard then when I get near the end the pastel just slide over the paper

The more you do it the pressure level will come naturally. I think you’re doing great. This is a really well done painting and that angle is a difficult one to master in my opinion. Good job Alex

Thanks Christina.

Ich finde es auch sehr gut gelungen und ich mag diesen süßen Blick, der viel Ausdruck hat. Sehr gut gemacht Alex 👍👍

Many Thanks, Heike.

Haha it is okay Alex 😊
That happens to all of us. Make a small checklist before starting a drawing so nothing gets missed 👍
And by the way, the drawing is really good. You did a great job on the tiger cub. The expression and fur feel lively and confident. Keep going and enjoy the process 🎨2- View 1 reply

Hey Mehmet. Love how you built that shine and surface texture. It feels solid and really well controlled 😊 And yes Larry is right. That leaf detailing is popping off the page. Very clean and confident work there 👍

Very nice. Expression is really strong. Especially the eyes. Good textures and colours. Keep it going =D

This is such a cute drawing indeed. I am loving it 😊
Pastels are not easy to control at all, and you handled them beautifully. The softness, colors, and expression all feel very natural, which is not easy to achieve 👍
Really impressive work. Keep going and keep enjoying the process 🎨2 -

You are getting better day by day Larry and it really shows 😊
You have done glass exercise very nicely . Your value control is improving and the reflections are reading more clearly. That patience you are building is exactly what grows drawing skills 👍
Keep doing these focused studies. They add up faster than you think. Happy to see… Read more2 -
