How to Draw Realistic Dog
In this exclusive realtime tutorial, we’ll create a hyper-realistic dog portrait using only four graphite pencils (B, 2B, 4B, and 9B) combined with the indentation technique for fur. Starting from a grid-based outline, you’ll learn how to add directional lines, indent fur textures, and build smooth layers of shading with careful blending. I’ll also show how to add highlights with erasers, refine textures with a gel pen, and create realistic details in the eyes, nose, whiskers, ears, and neck. This process makes drawing fur approachable while still teaching the importance of hand control and pressure techniques. By the end, you’ll have a complete lifelike dog drawing to be proud of.
