Who’s the lucky girl who received this as a gift? 😊 Gifting someone a portrait is such a beautiful thing it’s literally giving a part of your time, skill, and heart. Really lovely work, John.

This is my Taekwon-Do instructor’s daughter…given at the end of last Jan as a Christmas present. Took me several failed attempts haha

Nice work, Larry. Your tool control is really showing here the flow and layering of the fur feels natural and well thought out. You’re getting more confident with each exercise 👍

Nice one Larry, well done.

Nice looking fur Larry. I find fur a bit challenging. I haven’t gotten that far in the course yet. I’m looking forward to learning Ali’s tips on this subject. Thank you for sharing!

Drawing Community 5 weeks agoThis is my stone texture exercise. This prooved to be a lot more involved than it first appears. It is a very good exercise to practice shading that ends up looking like stone.
-
Larry, I really love your consistency, it shows clearly in your work. The effort you’re putting in is paying off, and this stone texture looks solid and well thought out. Keep going like this 👏

Drawing Community 5 weeks agoStarted a month ago as a hobbie with a bit of “constructive” criticism from the kids….. this is where I’m at.
Not thrilled with it but we’ll see where it goes 🤪

Hi Emil
I like your portrait a lot. It has very penetrating eyes.

Hey Emil sometimes a hobby quietly turns into passion without us even realizing it, and this drawing really feels like that. Kids’ “constructive criticism” can be brutal 😂

Hi Aly
Don’t be embarrassed. That is a great drawing for just getting started. Just wait until you finish Ali’s art course. You will be a pro.

Drawing Community 6 weeks agoHello. I don't use a grid, just draw freely.
-
Nice work, Rozina 👏
Drawing without a grid takes confidence, and it shows here. The forms are clear, proportions feel natural, and your shading is doing a good job describing volume. Keep practicing this way your observation skills get stronger with time.2 -
like it Rozina, I tend to use a grid more or less for the eyes , nose, and mouth.
